From the Greek Hydria, the name itself recalls water, which was traditionally carried in this type of amphora. In its shape, Hydria tells a story that has the charm of ancient daily rituals.
Blown and worked by hand using the Soffiato Opalino technique. It is obtained by overlapping ‘lattimo’ glass with one or more thin transparent and coloured glasses, resulting in splendid objects with intense and bright colours.
BLOWN OPALINE
Opaline glass is hand-blown and hand-worked and is obtained by overlaying lattimo with other glass. The technique is so called because the craftsmen expand and shape the glass by blowing air into a long metal rod connected to it, according to the millenary tradition of glassmaking. This ancient action, combined with the experience and skill of master glassmakers, transforms simple glass into true artistic masterpieces, one of a kind.
