Tips for Use
Before First Use
Enjoy the moment you unpack your new purchase! And be sure to remove all labels and packaging.
Wash your Le Creuset product in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Before using your kettle for the first time, remove the lid, fill it with clean water, bring to the boil and discard the water.
Do not fill above the indicator.
Cooking
For induction hobs, avoid using the “booster” function as it should only be used to quickly heat large volumes of water.
Lift the kettle when moving it, do not slide it across the surface as this may cause damage to the base of the kettle or the surface.
Do not slide the product on a glass hob as this may cause damage to the base of the product and the glass. Always lift the product when placing it down, moving it or removing it from the surface.
When hot, place it on a heat-resistant surface.
Cleaning
Clean the kettle after each use by hand washing it with a neutral detergent. Never use abrasives or harsh detergents as this may damage the surface. Done? Dry the kettle thoroughly to avoid mineral deposits.
Do not leave water in the kettle when not in use.
To remove mineral deposits, fill the kettle to the maximum level with a mixture of 50% water and 50% white vinegar and simmer for 20 minutes. If the deposits persist, use a mild descaler.
After washing, dry the product thoroughly and store in a dry place.
Use
Use the product on the most suitable cooking ring to avoid damage or overheating.
On induction hobs, do not rely on the automatic switch-off function. If it malfunctions, all the water in the kettle may evaporate, causing damage from overheating.
For kettles with a folding handle, to avoid overheating the handle, ensure it is securely fixed in an upright position before placing the kettle on the heat source.
Close the lid tightly to keep the handle safe from steam.
Always ensure the spout and lid notches are facing away from you and others.
Do not leave the kettle on the heat source until the water has run out, as this will cause rapid overheating.
Remember to turn off the heat source when the water starts to boil and remove the kettle from the heat source.
Is the water boiling? Wait 10-15 seconds before removing the kettle from the heat source, then pour. Never tip the kettle upside down. Make sure to close the lid by pressing firmly on the knob.
Allow the kettle to cool thoroughly before filling it with cold water.
