The Vista Alegre porcelain factory was founded in 1824 and was the first industrial plant dedicated to the production of porcelain in Portugal. The perseverance of its founder, José Ferreira Pinto Basto, was instrumental in the creation and success of this bold enterprise.
Vista Alegre produces porcelain tableware, decorative items, gift items, hotel tableware, high-quality glass and crystal and 18/10 stainless steel cutlery. The porcelain factory not only uses state-of-the-art production techniques, but also employs 17 hand painters who are responsible for the decoration of the pieces produced.
