This knife won the Which Best Buy 2022 award! The G-9 Bread Knife is the classic bread knife from Global. It is a specialised knife, to be used exclusively for bread or similar foods. The teeth are made for sawing through the crust of bread, but can also be used for harder meats, such as crackling.<\/p>\n

If you look closely at the knife blade, you will notice that on the face of the knife the teeth have a chamber, while on the back of the knife the face is flat. When cutting bread, it automatically cuts inwards in a curve rather than straight down, and the chamber serves to correct this, so that the slices have a similar thickness along their entire length. Although the G-9 can be used by left-handers, the set-up is for right-handers.<\/p>\n

From time to time we are asked whether it is possible to sharpen a bread knife. In our opinion, it is not possible, and manufacturers who claim that their sharpeners can sharpen a bread knife are probably incorrect. So do not try to sharpen your Global G-9 bread knife!<\/p>\n
