This design depicts Endless’ iconic Chapel perfume bottle, inspired by the alluring Chanel No. 5 fragrance – a globally recognizable luxury item. Endless’ ethos of “brand worship” comments on how modern society is chained to the lure of luxury and designer goods and “idolizes” these objects as if they were religious artifacts, hence
the name, “Chapel.” On the bottle, Endless included traditional religious iconography, but with modern fashion icons – Karl Lagerfeld and Kate Moss – to symbolize the change in today’s worship. The background represents the city streets in which Endless shows his work, and was created from a manipulated photo Endless took while walking around London.
THE ENDLESS COLLECTION
Endless is a London-based artist who combines contemporary and street art. After using the walls of London as his canvases, Endless’ reputation has grown as he has traveled from the street to the gallery, catching the attention of the art world, luxury brands and the media. Provocative and radical in his creations, Endless tells a story of our time, giving an honest and philosophical description of what surrounds us, exploring aspects of the world of fashion, advertising and the dark side of modern culture.
The narrative of the works is neither positive nor negative, allowing the viewer to define their own opinion by interacting with the hidden messages and opulent, playful and seductive aesthetics of his works. Today Endless continues to express his ideas on the streets, but his most exclusive work can be found at Cris Contini Contemporary gallery in London and Porto Montenegro, as well as in the homes of established collectors.
